From our campsite in the Bas-Rhin, discover an authentic region of picturesque villages, medieval castles and unique nature reserves. Between peaceful excursions into nature, cultural escapades and bucolic strolls, you’ll find the perfect balance for an invigorating vacation in Alsace’s Grand Ried region.

During your stay in Alsace, take the time to discover three emblematic towns. Sélestat, just 30 minutes from the campsite, boasts a lively historic center and a famous humanist library listed by UNESCO. Further south, Colmar charms with its canals, colorful half-timbered houses and ” Little Venice ” atmosphere. Finally, Strasbourg, the European capital, will amaze you with its majestic cathedral and picturesque Petite France district. Three unmissable stops to discover the richness of Alsace.

During your stay in Bas-Rhin, you’ll be ideally placed to discover the many treasures of Alsace and Germany. Nature lovers can take the EuroVélo 15, walk along the Tulla dike, or explore the unspoilt landscapes of the Kaiserstuhl. Nearby Mont Saint-Odile and the majestic castles of Haut-Kœnigsbourg and Hohlandsbourg offer great cultural and historical escapades.

Families will appreciate original and fun outings such as the Parc des cigognes, the Montagne des singes or the Volerie des aigles, real favorites for young and old alike. Further south, take in theÉcomusée d’Alsace in Ungersheim or the prestigious collections of the Musée Unterlinden in Colmar. Freiburg im Breisgau, a dynamic German university town, is easy to visit by bike and offers a magical getaway (especially during Christmas!).
Strollers will fall under the spell of Colmar’s Little Venice, Strasbourg’s historic center with its Notre-Dame cathedral, or the picturesque villages at the enchanting Christmas markets in Colmar, Strasbourg, Ribeauvillé, Eguisheim or Kaysersberg.

The Bas-Rhin offers a multitude of trails to suit all profiles, from family walks in the central Ried to river walks along the Rhine. Numerous walking and cycling trails border the commune of Schoenau. 6 color-coded routes are available to take you through the surrounding area. You can download the itineraries with information and directions for each route. All you have to do is choose!
